Targeting the Bands Behind Cellulite
Beneath the skin are fibrous connective tissue bands called septa. When certain bands pull downward on the skin, they create the dimples and depressions commonly associated with cellulite.
Avéli® uses a specialized handheld device to identify and release these bands through small incisions beneath the skin. The device allows the provider to confirm when the targeted bands have been released, addressing individual dimples with precision.
Unlike treatments that focus on fat reduction or surface-level skin tightening, Avéli® works directly on the structural cause of cellulite dimpling.
What to Expect During Your Appointment
Avéli® is typically performed during a single in-office appointment using local anesthesia. Your provider first identifies the cellulite dimples to be treated before carefully releasing the underlying bands responsible for their appearance.
The procedure generally takes about an hour, although timing depends on the number and location of treated areas. Mild soreness, swelling, tenderness, and bruising are common afterward. Many patients return to normal daily activities within 24 to 48 hours, although strenuous exercise may need to be postponed.
As the treated areas heal and swelling subsides, improvements become more noticeable. Clinical studies have demonstrated sustained cellulite reduction through one year following treatment, although individual results vary.
Aftercare Recommendations
Proper aftercare helps support healing and minimize discomfort following Avéli® treatment. Bruising, swelling, and tenderness may develop in the treated areas and generally improve over the following weeks. Following your provider's recovery instructions is important, especially when you return to exercise and other physical activities.
Post-Treatment DO's:
Resume regular activities gradually, based on your provider's guidance.
Follow your provider's instructions for caring for the small incision sites.
Allow time for bruising, swelling, and tenderness to subside.
Post-Treatment DON'Ts:
Do not massage or apply excessive pressure to treated areas unless instructed.
Avoid strenuous exercise until cleared by your provider.
Avoid picking at incision sites or ignoring unusual or worsening symptoms.
